SERANG – The Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT), Yandri Susanto, celebrated the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriyah holiday at the Kramat Watu Town Square, Serang Regency, on Wednesday morning (May 27, 2026).
Dressed in a white shirt and a suit jacket, Minister Yandri greeted the residents packing the town square before taking his seat in the row provided by the organizing committee from the Baitul Muslimin Mosque Welfare Council (DKM).
Minister Yandri extended his holiday greetings to the attending residents and to village communities across Indonesia.
"Wishing everyone a blessed Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriyah celebration," Minister Yandri said.
The Minister praised the execution of the Eid al-Adha prayers at the town square, noting that the event proceeded smoothly. "The Imam and the Khatib did an excellent job, and the messages delivered in the sermon were exceptional," he remarked.
Minister Yandri urged all Serang residents to maintain solidarity and togetherness, highlighting that these values serve as vital foundations for life. "Life is short, so let us compete with one another in doing good deeds," Minister Yandri added.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Serang, Ratu Rachmatu Zakiyah, stated that the exemplary virtues demonstrated by the Prophet Abraham and the Prophet Ishmael teach the fundamental importance of faith, sincerity, and social compassion.
"Through the ritual of Qurban (sacrifice), we are taught to deepen our gratitude to Allah SWT," Regent Ratu expressed.
Marking one year of the current administration, Regent Ratu noted that the Serang Regency Government has continuously upgraded the education, religious affairs, and human resources sectors.
"In these sectors, we have increased our support and welfare provisions for religious teachers, with 20,445 teachers currently receiving financial incentives from the Serang Regency Government, alongside expanded educational access," Regent Ratu explained.
The Regent also called upon the entire community of Serang to collaborate with the local government to accelerate regional development across Serang Regency.
