JAKARTA – The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) has officially been allocated a budget ceiling of IDR 2,785,226,294,597 (IDR 2.785 trillion) for Fiscal Year 2027. This approval was finalized after Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) endorsed the ministry's 2027 budget proposal during a joint working meeting with its partner institutions at the Commission V Hearing Room, Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday (September 24, 2026).
Chairman of Commission V DPR RI, Lasarus, stated that the final adjustment to the Ministry/Agency Work Plan and Budget (RKA K/L) for Fiscal Year 2027 aligns with the deliberations conducted alongside the DPR RI Budget Committee (Banggar). Consequently, the entire budget review process for Commission V work partners, which commenced in May 2026, was officially ratified today.
"The initial budget requirement proposed by the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions for 2027 stood at IDR 5.513 trillion, with an indicative ceiling of IDR 1.785 trillion in the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN), which remained unchanged during the working sessions held between September 1 and 23, 2026," Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Lasarus stated.
"Following official notification from the Budget Committee (Letter No. B/12157/AG.05.02/09/2026 dated September 9, 2026), Kemendes PDT received an additional allocation of IDR 1.000 trillion. Thus, the final budget ceiling for Kemendes PDT stands at IDR 2.785 trillion, leaving a budget backlog of IDR 2.728 trillion," Lasarus added.
Meanwhile, Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto confirmed that following joint deliberations between the DPR RI Budget Committee and the government on September 9, 2026, Kemendes PDT secured an additional IDR 1 trillion allocation for FY 2027.
This adjustment increased the 2027 budget ceiling to IDR 2.785 trillion from the initial IDR 1.785 trillion approved during the Commission V working meeting on September 21, 2026. Against the total budget requirement of IDR 5.513 trillion for 2027, an unfunded budget backlog of IDR 2.728 trillion remains.
"With the IDR 1 trillion addition, the budget allocation for the Ministry of Villages becomes IDR 2.785 trillion, leaving a remaining backlog of IDR 2.728 trillion," Minister Yandri noted.
He outlined that the additional IDR 1 trillion will be distributed into two primary programs: the Village and Disadvantaged Regions Development Program receiving IDR 848.48 billion, and the Management Support Program receiving IDR 115.51 billion.
Minister Yandri detailed several priority sectors that will receive affirmative funding under this budget expansion, including clean water infrastructure development, village road upgrades, operational assistance for Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa)—specifically supporting tourism villages and thematic villages—construction and rehabilitation of village markets, downstream processing of top rural commodities through export villages, village bridge construction, rural human capacity building, and operational support to execute President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs.
"I believe that covers the core details, Mr. Chairman. We express our deepest gratitude to the leadership, chairs, vice chairs, and all members of Commission V for their unwavering support in securing the additional IDR 1 trillion for the Ministry of Villages," Minister Yandri concluded.
