CILEGON – Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto commended Al-Khairiyah’s dedicated commitment to human resource development and to encouraging the younger generation to actively serve the nation, state, and religion.
"We must extend our highest appreciation for Al-Khairiyah’s commitment to human resource development. I encourage everyone to remain steadfast and resilient. Sacred intentions dedicated to religion, nation, and country must serve as our primary driving spirit," Minister Yandri stated while delivering a scientific oration at the 11th Al-Khairiyah Congress (Muktamar XI Al-Khairiyah) in Citangkil, Cilegon City, on Saturday (October 17, 2026).
Minister Yandri urged the extended Al-Khairiyah family to return to their roots and spearhead rural development by taking active roles in economics, entrepreneurship, and local job creation.
He emphasized strategic collaboration by leveraging priority programs embedded within the 12 Actions to Build Villages, Build Indonesia framework. A key driver is the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUM Desa) initiative, with thousands currently functioning as primary catalysts for rural economic development.
Today, BUM Desa entities are directly exporting authentic rural products to international markets, including Jembe drums, organic palm sugar, and ornamental koi goldfish.
"Kemendes PDT has now established access channels to 49 export destination countries for village products," Minister Yandri noted.
In addition, Kemendes PDT executes thematic village programs tailored to each village's distinct economic potential, backed by financial support reaching hundreds of millions of rupiah per initiative.
Furthermore, an impending partnership between Kemendes PDT and the World Bank will launch the Integrated Green Economy and Food Self-Sufficiency Program (Program Swasembada Ekonomi Hijau dan Pangan Terintegrasi / SEHATI), through which eligible villages can secure funding support of up to IDR 2.5 billion.
Minister Yandri also extended his congratulations to KH Ali Mujahidin on his re-election as Chairman of the Central Board (Pengurus Besar / PB) of Al-Khairiyah for the 2026–2031 tenure.
Minister Yandri expressed confidence that under this renewed leadership, PB Al-Khairiyah will reinforce its institutional contribution toward cultivating superior human resources while fostering community economic self-reliance.
Echoing these sentiments, Regent of Serang Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah congratulated the organization on the successful execution of the 11th Al-Khairiyah Congress.
"We believe that the outcomes of this Congress will enable Al-Khairiyah to remain consistently dedicated to Islamic education and community outreach across Banten and Indonesia," Regent Ratu stated.
The Serang Regency Government continues to collaborate with Al-Khairiyah to elevate human resource quality, including allocating academic scholarships for 60 students to study at Al-Khairiyah institutions.
During the event, Minister Yandri signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PB Al-Khairiyah to synergize rural and disadvantaged region development and empowerment programs.
In recognition of his ongoing contributions and collaborative efforts with the institution, PB Al-Khairiyah presented Minister Yandri with the prestigious Satria Setia Bhakti award.
