BANGGAI – The Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT), Yandri Susanto, continues to demonstrate his commitment to the success of thematic village programs across Indonesia. This commitment was highlighted during his visit to Lenyek Village, North Luwuk District, Banggai Regency, on Monday (April 13, 2026).
During the visit, Minister Yandri engaged in a dialogue with the local community. He stated that his visit to Lenyek Village was prompted by the village's decision to designate dragon fruit as its primary commodity for thematic village development. Furthermore, he noted that Lenyek Village possesses extraordinary potential as a tourism village that must be continuously developed.
To support this, Minister Yandri announced that the Ministry (Kemendes PDT) would provide assistance to Lenyek Village. This aid can be utilized to strengthen village potential, such as developing Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa), the dragon fruit thematic village program, and existing tourism sites.
"God willing, there will be assistance from the Ministry of Villages for Lenyek Village. We have programs for tourism villages, export villages, BUM Desa, and village markets. I will discuss with the Regent to determine which areas should be prioritized," said Minister Yandri.
In addition to supporting local potential, Minister Yandri also addressed grievances from the community during the dialogue, including infrastructure access, a shortage of school classrooms, and the fact that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has not yet reached schools in Lenyek Village.
Responding to these issues, Minister Yandri committed to immediate follow-up by coordinating with the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
"At the Lenyek Elementary School in North Luwuk District, students are reportedly studying outside because they lack classrooms. Therefore, I appeal to the honorable Mr. Abdul Mu’ti (Minister of Primary and Secondary Education) to help Lenyek Elementary School so these children can grow into great individuals," Minister Yandri stated.
"Regarding those who have not received MBG Mr. Dadan, Head of BGN—it turns out that in the villages and schools of North Luwuk District, Banggai Regency, the MBG program has not arrived. Later, we can coordinate with the Regent to build the necessary kitchens," he added.
Minister Yandri expressed his hope that by going directly to the grassroots level, the government can resolve local issues and effectively utilize the potentials found in villages throughout Indonesia.
The event was attended by the Regent of Banggai, Amirudin, and the Banggai Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). Accompanying Minister Yandri on this visit was the Head of BPI, Mulyadin Malik.
