JAKARTA – The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT), in collaboration with the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF), hosted the 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Village Development (PDB) Awards ceremony at the Operational Room, Kemendes Kalibata Office, on Monday (September 28, 2026).
Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria commended the participating enterprises for their active role in driving rural development and economic growth.
"Approximately 61 companies implementing 74 initiatives across Indonesian villages were recognized today. We hope this annual tradition continues to grow, encouraging even greater corporate CSR investments toward rural communities," stated Deputy Minister Ariza.
Deputy Minister Ariza highlighted President Prabowo Subianto's strong commitment to accelerating national development through high-priority programs primarily targeting rural populations.
The former Vice Governor of Jakarta cited the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis / MBG) initiative as an example of a policy delivering dual benefits to rural areas—boosting productivity to generate job opportunities while stimulating local economic growth and public welfare.
"Similarly, over 80,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives (Koperasi Desa Merah Putih / KDMP) have been established to enhance productivity, expand employment, accelerate economic growth, and ultimately elevate rural living standards," Deputy Minister Ariza added.
He further noted key government policy interventions, including purchasing harvested paddy from farmers at competitive prices, reducing fertilizer prices by up to 20 percent, and launching the People's School (Sekolah Rakyat) initiative to provide underprivileged rural families with quality educational access.
"All of the President's key programs directly target rural populations, given that the majority of Indonesian citizens reside in villages," Deputy Minister Ariza affirmed.
Deputy Minister Ariza also extended his gratitude to ISSF Chairman Sudarmanto and his leadership team for organizing and coordinating corporate CSR allocations dedicated to rural development.
Meanwhile, ISSF Chairman Sudarmanto expressed his appreciation as the CSR and PDB Awards reached its fifth consecutive year in partnership with Kemendes PDT.
Sudarmanto noted that this collaborative initiative aligns directly with the 6th pillar of the Asta Cita national development agenda: Building from the Villages and Grassroots to Achieve Economic Equity and Poverty Eradication.
"ISSF remains committed to motivating corporations to make tangible, high-impact contributions through targeted CSR initiatives," Sudarmanto stated.
Sudarmanto also commended Kemendes PDT for bringing together cabinet ministers and deputy ministers to personally present the accolades to award recipients.
"This underscores that villages stand as the forefront of our nation and serve as the true mirror of Indonesia's progress," Sudarmanto concluded.
High-ranking officials attending the ceremony to present awards included Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister of Environment Diaz Hendropriyono, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa, as well as official representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
Accompanying Deputy Minister Ariza at the event were Secretary-General of Kemendes PDT Taufik Madjid, Inspector General Mashyudi, Senior Advisor Sugito, and senior officials within Kemendes PDT.
