KARAWANG – The Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT), Yandri Susanto, attended the socialization of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) at the Karawang Regent's Office, Thursday (Feb 26, 2026).
The success of DTSEN, according to Minister Yandri, is determined by the implementers at the village level, including village assistants (pendamping desa).
"Indonesia now has a single data guideline; there are no longer data discrepancies between ministries. Under the leadership of President Prabowo, we follow one reference, which is DTSEN. The success of this system is heavily determined by its execution at the village level," said Minister Yandri during the socialization event, which was also attended by the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Villages share a very strong connection because many of their program locations (locus) are in villages. Since the majority of social program beneficiaries reside in rural areas, all assistance must refer to one critical element: data.
"Data is the keyword. Without correct data, policies will be misdirected. We must not allow those who are eligible to be excluded, while those who are ineligible receive assistance. This is a matter of national policy," Minister Yandri stated.
Through Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025 regarding DTSEN, the Ministry of Villages has been assigned a specific mandate. Therefore, collaboration between ministries and agencies is vital to ensuring that the distribution of assistance is more accurate and precisely targeted.
"Village heads, village assistants, and in the future, village operators, will play a crucial role in data collection. We know the number of villages in Indonesia is immense, totaling 75,266. If all these villages have clean and accurate data, Indonesia will be very strong in implementing accurately targeted policy affirmations," said Minister Yandri.
With the implementation of DTSEN, the Ministry of Villages will not only collect data but also become an active user of that data.
Minister Yandri also invited the Sub-district Heads, Village Heads, Village Assistants, and Social Pillars in attendance to support the government's program: the Merah Putih Village Cooperative. He hopes it will become a new economic powerhouse reaching the furthest corners of the villages.
This is because at least 20 percent of the cooperative's profits contribute to Village Original Income (PAD) and Net Profit Distribution (SHU), all of which will be managed and utilized for the benefit of the villagers.
Also in attendance were members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Wardatul Asriyah and Rieke Diah Pitaloka; the Regent of Karawang, Aep Syaepulloh; Chairman of the Karawang DPRD, Endang Sodikin; the Regent of Intan Jaya, Aner Maisini; and the Karawang Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
Accompanying Minister Yandri were the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Taufik Madjid; Head of BPI, Mulyadin Malik; and the Head of the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin), Ari Indarto.
