JAKARTA – Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto stated that two years into the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the government has driven the emergence of export-oriented villages across Indonesia.
According to Minister Yandri, managing local village assets productively and sustainably creates strategic opportunities to expand into international markets, boost local economic value-added, and generate employment for rural residents.

"We have Village-Owned Enterprises generating annual revenues of IDR 17 billion, IDR 28 billion, and more. Among these well-managed enterprises are dedicated Tilapia Villages, Export Villages, and other specialized entities," Minister Yandri stated while speaking at a panel on two years of the Prabowo-Gibran administration at Tarumanagara University (UNTAR), Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (October 27, 2026).
Minister Yandri reiterated that President Prabowo Subianto's 6th Asta Cita pillar—Building from the Villages and Grassroots to Achieve Economic Equity and Poverty Eradication—has been operationally translated into the 12 Actions to Build Villages, Build Indonesia (12 Aksi Bangun Desa, Bangun Indonesia) framework.
He emphasized that this strategic direction properly positions villages not merely as passive development targets, but as active drivers that shape the nation's future trajectory.
By enhancing local potential, self-reliance, and productivity, national development is envisioned to grow organically from the grassroots, delivering equitable prosperity and establishing rural progress as the foundation of Indonesia's future.
"We translated President Prabowo's 6th Asta Cita pillar into the 12 Actions to Build Villages, Build Indonesia. Through these 12 Actions, villages will determine the future direction of our nation," Minister Yandri explained.
Furthermore, Minister Yandri noted that revitalizing Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) represents a central, sustainable mechanism within the 12 Actions framework.
This effort aims to strengthen BUM Desa as engines of local economic growth, optimize native village commodities, and systematically elevate community welfare.
With thousands of active BUM Desa units already achieving significant milestones, revitalizing these business enterprises is expected to reinforce rural economic autonomy and solidify villages as primary pillars of national economic growth.
"As part of the 12 Actions to Build Villages, Build Indonesia, we are executing the revitalization of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa), which currently number in the thousands and have recorded numerous achievements," he concluded.
Accompanying Minister Yandri were Director General of Economic Development and Investment (PEID) Tabrani, Head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Agustomi Masik, Director General of Village and Rural Development (PDP) Nugroho Setijo Nagoro, Director General of Disadvantaged Regions Development (PPDT) Samsul Widodo, Head of the Information Development Agency (BPI) Mulyadin Malik, and Special Staff to the Minister Khoirul Huda.
