PURWAKARTA – The Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT), Yandri Susanto, attended the inauguration of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Village Consultative Council Members Association (PP PABPDSI) and the launch of the National BPD Retreat Program at the Purwakarta Town Square on Monday (July 13, 2026).
Minister Yandri expressed his strong confidence that the newly inaugurated central leadership of PABPDSI, under the command of Fery Radiansyah, will be highly driven to dedicate their services across all villages in Indonesia.
"With 75,266 villages and a total of nearly one million BPD members nationwide, this institution forms a vital pillar of the nation's core strength. Therefore, always strive to deliver the absolute best," Minister Yandri stated.
This is highly essential given President Prabowo Subianto's 6th Asta Cita (Aspiration), which dictates: "Building from the Village and from the Bottom-Up for Economic Equality and Poverty Eradication." The Village Consultative Council (BPD), Minister Yandri noted, serves as one of the critical linchpins, giving PABPDSI an incredibly strategic function.
"We at the Ministry of Villages have translated that Asta Cita into the '12 Strategic Actions to Build Villages, Build Indonesia.' This includes Export Villages, Tourism Villages, Thematic Villages, Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDesa), and the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (Kopdes)," Minister Yandri outlined.
Minister Yandri is optimistic that these 12 Strategic Actions can be successfully realized through cross-sectoral collaboration, which explicitly includes a strong partnership with PABPDSI.
"We must continuously collaborate because, as President Prabowo always reminds us, we are not Superman—we are a Super Team. If we remain unified and solid, the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045 can definitely be achieved," Minister Yandri emphasized.
He further reasserted that the Ministry stands fully prepared to collaborate closely with PABPDSI to collectively advance and build villages throughout Indonesia.
On the same occasion, the Chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), who also serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of PP PABPDSI, Dudung Abdurachman, stated that the BPD holds a highly strategic role in safeguarding and steering the success of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs.
“My primary duty is to ensure that all government programs run precisely on target. The BPD stands at the absolute vanguard of village governance, and the future of Indonesia is heavily determined by the progress of all our villages, which serve as home to the majority of our fellow citizens,” Chief of Staff Dudung remarked.
Villages are far more than mere administrative boundaries; they are vibrant epicenters of economic growth rooted deeply in local wisdoms such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), consensus-building deliberations (musyawarah), and mutual trust. It is this exact spirit that the new leadership of PABPDSI is expected to fully drive forward to realize the national grand vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
The high-profile ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ahmad Wiyagus, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah, the Regent of Purwakarta Saepul Bahri Binzein, alongside senior officials from the Presidential Staff Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
Accompanying Minister Yandri from the Ministry of Villages and PDT were the Head of the Information Development Agency (BPI) Mulyadin Malik and Senior Advisor Sugito.
