JAKARTA – Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto called on the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF) and participating companies of the 2026 CSR and PDB Awards to broaden their strategic partnership by expanding fostered village (Desa Binaan) initiatives. This collaborative drive aims to accelerate the fulfillment of basic needs while fostering self-reliance and progress across Indonesian villages.
"Regardless of scale, every contribution is invaluable, and we intend to maximize its impact. Through a collective, cross-sector effort, we can ensure that no village in Indonesia lacks clean drinking water or proper sanitation facilities, that every community has access to decent houses of worship, and that no village roads or bridges remain in disrepair," Minister Yandri emphasized during a networking and discussion session on rural development with participating CSR and PDB Awards 2026 corporations at Amanaia Satrio, Jakarta, on Wednesday (October 7, 2026).
Minister Yandri expressed hope that corporate award participants would extend solid, ongoing support to drive rural progress and autonomy, ultimately eradicating disadvantaged and severely disadvantaged villages nationwide.
Under this joint framework, successful rural development will be measured not only by economic growth, but also by tangible improvements in quality of life, the fulfillment of basic infrastructure needs, and the community's capacity to build sustainable livelihoods.
He stressed that multi-stakeholder contributions will optimize local economic potential—from eco-tourism enterprises to high-value village commodities capable of reaching international export markets—while simultaneously addressing fundamental priorities such as clean water access, sanitation infrastructure, and rural bridge construction.
"At its core, we invite all corporate partners to actively engage in this national mission. No matter how small, every contribution carries profound meaning for rural communities. This reflects our unified view of Indonesia as one integrated nation," he affirmed.
Access to clean water remains a critical basic necessity that many rural residents still lack. Consequently, engaging corporate partners represents a crucial milestone toward swiftly securing basic infrastructure across rural areas.
The enterprises attending the forum have long served as loyal partners of Kemendes PDT in advancing rural development across various provinces in accordance with their respective operational capacities. Corporate representatives praised the call to expand fostered village programs as a timely step, ensuring that corporate contributions continue to scale and deliver broader social benefits beyond specific localized operations.
Among the prominent corporations represented were PT Kaltim Nitrate Indonesia, PT PLN Nusantara Power Cirata, PT Pertamina Gas Negara, PT Sumber Daya Arindo, PT Multi Harapan Utama, PT PLN Jawa Timur, PLN Unit Pemeliharaan, and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi. Each entity committed to participating directly in rural advancement through this collaborative gotong royong (mutual cooperation) framework.
