JAKARTA — The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) conducted a discussion meeting regarding a Draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Trans News Corpora (CNN Indonesia) virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, to finalize synergies in village development publication and information dissemination.
The meeting, which commenced at 10:00 WIB, was chaired by the Lead of the Cooperation Working Team of the Bureau of Planning and Cooperation, Eko Supriyatin. The discussion was attended by representatives from the Legal Bureau, the Bureau of Planning and Cooperation, the BPI, and relevant technical units, alongside PT Trans News Corpora (CNN Indonesia) representatives Nadya, Saphira, and Niki among other participants.
During the primary discussion, the meeting reviewed the legal foundation of the partnership pursuant to Regulation of the Minister of Villages Number 4 of 2026. Representatives from PT Trans News Corpora (CNN Indonesia) outlined the objectives of the collaboration, which will be executed across three primary media platforms: digital television, digital portals, and social media. Additionally, meeting participants examined the scope of cooperation, adjustments to MoU articles, and modifications to the agreement's title. The Public Relations Bureau of Kemendes PDT was designated as the primary unit responsible for following up on publication and communication aspects.
Deliberations yielded consensus on several critical points. Regarding the MoU title, the agreed alternative title is "Synergy on Publication and Information for the Development and Empowerment of Village Communities and Disadvantaged Regions." The provisional scope of cooperation encompasses:
1. Exchange of data and/or information;
2. Publication of development activities;
3. Capacity building for human resources in media and communications; and
4. Other cooperative initiatives mutually agreed upon by the parties.
Meanwhile, clauses concerning partnership support and facilitation were removed from the MoU and will be formulated in detail within a separate Cooperation Agreement (Perjanjian Kerja Sama / PKS).
Several other articles were formally agreed upon, including a three-year MoU tenure, funding allocation borne by each party's respective budget, monitoring and evaluation conducted at least once annually, and dispute resolution via mutual consultation. Provisions regarding official correspondence were approved—pending the addition of the second party's telephone details—while the inclusion of addenda was agreed upon to govern matters not yet specified.
As a follow-up measure, the draft document will be re-transmitted for joint review by both parties, including a substantive publication review by the Public Relations Bureau. The official signing schedule awaits executive confirmation—with October 29 under consideration as an option—while technical execution details will be articulated in a dedicated PKS.
