JAKARTA — Secretary General of the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT), Taufik Madjid, chaired the Technical Coordination Meeting for the Execution of National Village Day (Hari Desa Nasional / HDN) 2027 at the Kemendes PDT Executive Meeting Room, 2nd Floor Main Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (October 28, 2026). Also attended by Minister of Villages and PDT Yandri Susanto, the meeting addressed the readiness of the Village League (Liga Desa), various national competitions, and coordination with the Mojokerto Regional Government alongside village associations to ensure the HDN 2027 series operates systematically, engages local communities, and delivers tangible impacts on rural economies.

The HDN 2027 commemoration—carrying the official theme "Build Villages, Build Indonesia" (Bangun Desa, Bangun Indonesia)—will be centered in Mojokerto Regency, East Java, with the main culmination ceremony scheduled for January 16, 2027. The event lineup is formulated through cross-sectoral collaboration involving the central government, regional governments, village associations, and diverse development stakeholders.
A primary agenda item finalized during the session was the Village League, projected to serve as the flagship icon of HDN 2027. This inter-village football tournament is engineered to encompass 23,247 villages across 16 match zones throughout Indonesia.
The Village League was officially launched on October 10, 2026, in West Bandung Regency. District-level (kecamatan) matches are scheduled to take place in November, followed by inter-zone fixtures in December, leading up to the championship finals hosted in Mojokerto in January 2027.
The tournament aims not only to develop community sports talent, but also to catalyze local economic activity by engaging micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), local service providers, and residents surrounding match venues.
Beyond the Village League, Kemendes PDT is refining various competition branches highlighting village innovation, creativity, and flagship potential. These include the Gen Z Village Ambassador Festival—which has already attracted approximately 1,500 candidates—the Archipelago Tourism Village Competition (Lomba Desa Wisata Nusantara), the BUM Desa Competition, Export Villages (Desa Ekspor), food security innovations, and village innovations supporting women-friendly, child-caring, and educational frameworks.
The event series also features a Village Film Festival, an e-sports tournament, a Village YouTuber competition, Digital Villages (Desa Digital), village website management, Pioneer Village Youth (Pemuda Pelopor Desa), alongside recognition awards for villages demonstrating best practices in protecting Indonesian migrant workers.
During the meeting, technical readiness across all activity branches was subjected to rigorous review—spanning assessment criteria formulation, execution schedules, budget requirements, corporate sponsorship support, to security coordination. Strengthening communication across entities remains essential to guarantee that field execution in the regions proceeds according to planned milestones.
The Regional Government of Mojokerto Regency presented its readiness as host, detailing plans for sporting events, cultural festivals, MSME flagship product exhibitions, and various community-driven initiatives.
Entering January 2027, the HDN itinerary will feature the Village Service Movement (Gerakan Bakti Desa), a village business match and investment forum, social service outreach, an exhibition showcasing village innovations and flagship potentials, and a cultural carnival. These activities are designed to expand market promotion for village products while unlocking commercial partnership opportunities.
At the main ceremony on January 16, 2027, held in Pacing Village, Bangsal District, Mojokerto Regency, plans include presenting awards to all competition winners alongside a grand Majapahit mass dance performance (tari kolosal Majapahit).
As a direct follow-up action, Secretary General Taufik Madjid instructed the development of a dedicated HDN 2027 microsite to facilitate public information dissemination.
Through coordinated preparations, Kemendes PDT seeks to ensure HDN 2027 transforms from a routine annual celebration into a powerful catalyst for mobilizing public participation, introducing village innovations, and driving local economic growth.
This vision aligns directly with President Prabowo Subianto's 6th Asta Cita, focusing on building from the villages and from the grassroots for economic equity and poverty eradication.
